I chose animal waste because I thought it was funny.
Water Pollution and Animal Waste
By Bennett Smith
Imagine that you just came back from a run. You want a glass of water. Then you notice that the water is brown and gooey! This could be from animal waste pollution.
Animal waste is a problem for water. When a pet poops in water or the rain washes the waste into a body of water you shouldn’t drink that water. Also when farm animals poop in the fields it gets washed down by rain. Did you know sometimes fertilizers are made from poop? When it rains it washes the fertilizers down into a body of water. You shouldn’t drink that water. Animal waste can cause many health problems. These are some things that are in dogs poop: whipworms, hookworms, roundworms, tapeworms, and parvo. Do you want that in your drinking water?
Here are some things that we can do. When your pet poops you should pick it up and when you pick it up don’t just throw it wherever. It’ll either get washed down by rain or it just lands in water. What you should really do is throw it in the trash can. So in conclusion, pick up your pet’s poop.
