I chose to research animal waste because I wanted to know why people don't pick up their animals' poop.
Water Pollution and Animal Waste
By Dylan Thomas
Did you know you might be drinking poop?! You might be if you don’t clean up your animal’s waste. In farms or at your house if you have an animal it has to poop sometime, but sometimes people don’t clean up their animal’s waste and it gets in water.
When animals poop, if it rains it can break up the poop and wash down into lakes or rivers or Even the ocean! Sometimes fertilizer is made of poop. When it gets mixed with dirt it rains and the poop goes in the water.
There are things we can do to help this problem. The government uses special treatment to clean out waste from water but if we keep poop from getting in water, the water would be cleaner. You can pick up your animal’s poop and keep it away from water so no one drinks it and gets sick. You can also clean up other animals poop if their owners don’t pick it up. When you do this you will be helping keep water clean!!!
